Perfect World's up-coming D&D Action MMO adventurefest Neverwinter has finally announced the date of their long awaited Beta phase to be February 8, 2013. And while that would be worth a news post in and of itself, it seems that they have decided to one-up themselves by also announcing their Founder's Tiers

If you want to have the honor, nay, the privilege of becoming a "Founder" of Neverwinter (which basically means you gave them money to help with development costs) you have three separate tiers that you may chose from. The least expensive Adventurer's Helper Pack would cost you a mere $20 and gain you such in-game benefits as:

• ‘Adventurer's Helper Pack' containing six different types of in-game items
• ‘Small Bag of Holding' for twelve extra inventory slots
• ‘Amulet of Protection' item

I suppose that would be a fine option if you could only scrape together $20 to invest in an otherwise free game. But if you are going to do that, you might as well consider the second tier of Founding, the Guardian of Neverwinter Pack. For a measly $50, you gain even more bragging rights amongst your game playing friends, and the following perks:

• Three-day head start access to Neverwinter Open Beta
• Unique ‘Gold Moonstone Mask Regalia' head piece
• Unique ‘Armored Horse' mount
• Unique ‘Direwolf Companion'
• In-game and forum ‘Founder' title

But honestly, you have to ask yourself, why would you even consider such a pittance for the first two lowly tiers when you can go whole hog and drop an impressive $200 on the Hero of the North Founders Pack! Now we are talking! Aside from gaining the knowledge that you could have bought a fairly decent graphics card or solid state drive for roughly the same amount, you could also recount these other perks to yourself as you try to get to sleep at night:

• Five-day head start access to Neverwinter Open Beta
• Beta Weekend Friend Invite code
• Exclusive access to ‘Menzoberranzan Renegade', a Drow playable race like the legendary ranger Drizzt Do'Urden, complete with unique racial abilities and tattoo
• Unique ‘Armored Spider' mount
• Unique ‘Panther Companion'
• In-game and forum ‘Founder' title
• VIP Game Access to skip-the-line and get priority log-in access

That's right, kiddo. For only two Ben Franklins, you can buy your way into a F2P game and have all the required accessories to pretend you are Drizzt Do'Urden until you are purple-ish blue in the face. Seriously, how can you possibly pass this up! I know I'm signing up right this minute...

... can I borrow 200 bucks?

How many Do'Urden's does it take to fund a F2P game? The world may never know.
