The newest victim of the notorious fall delay curse appears to be Eat Sleep Play's Twisted Metal. Game designer David Jaffe announced the push-back on PlayStation.Blog, saying, "You gotta trust me when I tell you that - with this extra time for tuning and polish - the game is going to be so much better than it already is. And if you played Twisted Metal and liked it at E3 or Comic-Con, or if you get to play it (and you enjoy it) at one of the August shows, just imagine how much more fun the final game will be with some extra time, polish, and love."

A lot of people blame fall and holiday delays on competition. Hollywood doesn't want to release three blockbusters in one weekend, and the game industry is no different. But I think Jaffe is sincere in this, and if a game needs more polish, I say give it more polish (I'm looking at you, Dragon Age II).

For now, I guess we'll just have to have a sweet tooth for Sweet Tooth. And with that, I nominate myself for worst pun of the year *bows*.

What more could they polish in a game that involves the destruction of motor vehicles :/... I better feel the flames through my TV!
