After months and months of PvE demos, ArenaNet are finally getting down to the brunt of what Guild Wars 2 is: PVP. They will be sharing the PvP demo with the world a gamescom on August 17-21.

They will be offering the use of all the playable races, including the Tyria’s youngest race, the Sylvari, a race of sentient plant beings. The Sylvari show off the beauty and grace of your stereotypical elves, and they glow with the natural mystic of the treants. Sylvari are quite a unique race in both design and background, and it will be great to see how they look in game.

Although the original title of the game did have PvE content, the core part of the gameplay was the player verses player arena style combat. This scared off many of people who just wanted to play an open world MMO (the level cap was level 20). However, now that we’ve seen that ArenaNet can bring their online world to life, it’s time to see if they’ve kept up that same pattern with the PvP.

Unless you’re a lucky chap, and you’re heading out to Germany for gamescom, the only way you’re going to be seeing the gameplay is by surfing youtube for low quality previews; unless, that is, you follow this special link over here, in which case you will be able to see the gameplay streamed live! Ain’t the future neat?

ArenaNet is really packing it in with their PvP though, with the most exciting feature being the epic “world vs world” battles. There is no release that as of yet, but the game shouldn’t be too far off.

Im not a big PvP fan, but I will say that every new thing I see about this game makes me want to play it even more. Between GW2, The Old Republic, Tera, and Diablo 3 (not even counting WoW and Minecraft) Im going to have to teach my body to subsist without sleep.
