The gameplay in Monster Hunter seems to be getting a little bit of a stir around with Capcom announcing a possible fourth instalment of the franchise, Monster Hunter 4, for the Nintendo 3DS.

I thought I was looking at an armoured Nathan Drake for a second, but this is something refreshing to see from Monster Hunter. We see our hero running away from two ravenous dragons Tigrex and Rathalos, respectively, as he is forced to jump and climb his way to safety, whilst the environment around him crumbles – classic Drake. It is defiantly a more realistic take on the monster hunting, and will definitely make grinding for new armour that much more epic.

Although the series did see its time on the Wii, the portable sector of the franchise didn’t really make its way onto the Nintendo DS, sticking primarily to its Sony counterpart. I would have personally liked to see this game in HD rather than in 3D, but the new dimensions will appear spectacular nonetheless.

As stated in the title, this seems to only be a concept video, with even the name itself being labelled as “tentative”. The game is still subject to change, and could possibly become something entirely different when it is officially released. It is nice, however, to know that such a popular franchise will be making its way to the 3DS.

The action in that video is chaotic almost to the point of being comedic - I may actually give this installment a try! I havent touched the series sense the first one, whos awkward controls and pacing bored me to tears.

Assuming I find the money to pick up a 3DS, of course.
