Before Warcraft and Starcraft, before their very own Command & Conquer cash cow, Westwood Studios was defining the Real Time Strategy genre (and my early teenage nights) with Dune 2. Based on the novels by Frank Herbert, Dune 2 has you chosing one of three distinct factions, building your way through a Structure tree and invading enemy bases before anyone had ever even heard the term "Zerg Rush." And now, you can play an HTML5 port of the original game in all (ok, most) of its pixelated glory!

Head over to play-dune.com and select your faction. Whether you side with the noble Atreides, the insidious Ordos, or the down right not-nice Harkonnen, you will be building structures and blasting sand worms in no time. ProTip: Use the keyboard to issue commands to your units - (A)ttack, (M)ove, etc - instead of selecting them from the side menu, it will save you time and aggrevation. Remember, he who controls the spice, controls the universe!
