Review

For the last week, I've been testing a set of gaming headphones, throwing them at all the ways I play. I had high expectations, especially considering that I already own a pair of Sennheiser's. Fortunately for me, the GSP 600 did not disappoint.

The GSP 600 is a headset designed by Sennheiser specifically for gamers. With a comfortable closed-back design, this was easily the most comfortable pair of headphones I've worn, and I put them through their paces. The audio was crisp and sharp in games like Overwatch, where theater-style surround sound is incredibly important, and in MMOs like  World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy XIV, I was really impressed by how comfortable they were for long periods of time.

I was keenly interested in comparing them to my previous set of headphones, the Sennheiser PC 350 SE, and I'm happy to report that the GSP 600 is an upgrade in every way. The ear cups are larger, fitting around my ears better, and the additional adjustment bar on the top made it easy to fit it to my rather small head.

The one feature I missed having in the PC 350 SE, a dedicated mute feature, is available on the GSP 600. It makes me extremely happy to be able to mute my mic by pushing it up and out of the way since that was how I was handling snack breaks with my previous headset. It's almost like they created the feature just for me.

Multiplayer games like Heroes of the Storm and Overwatch were easy to play because of the crisp nature of the voices of my teammates, whether through services like Steam chat or using in-game chat systems like that provided through Battle.Net.

No matter what through at it, the GSP 600 handled it all with comfort and grace. Now, if you're the sort of person that wants a light-weight headset, perhaps something wireless, these are not the ones for you. Although they are comfortable, the metal construction that adds additional durability to the GSP 600 comes with added weight. I wasn't bothered by this myself, but it's something to keep in mind.

The GSP 600 does come with cables for both your console gaming and your PC, and I appreciate the nice braided sleeves on them which make them feel premium.

Ultimately, I highly recommend the GSP 600 from Sennheiser if you're in the market for a set of premium gaming headphones. They are available for $249.95 wherever Sennheiser accessories are sold.
