Blog Post

February has always been my favorite month.  This could be because I was born in February, but this year it's also my favorite month because of the glut of games being released.  I know if it were me I would release a game in February this year if only to get the chance to take advantage of the Leap Year.

There are about 30 titles coming out this month, and while not every one is worth your time, there are plenty that are.  Just in case you weren't aware of all the awesome happening in the year's smallest month, we listed them out for your convenience.

Week of January 31 to February 5

Week of February 27 to March 4

Binary Domain -- SEGA -- PS3, Xbox 360

Mortal Kombat (Komplete Edition)  -- WB Games -- PS3, Xbox 360

SSX -- EA -- PS3, Xbox 360

Wakfu -- Square Enix -- Mac, PC

This is far from a comprehensive list of all the games coming out, but you definitely get the idea.  Once the Playstation Vita arrives on the 14th of this month a ton of handheld titles arrive shortly thereafter, including PvZ, which stole my heart on the 360.  If only I had enough money and time for all the games I want to play.

Let's see...

Soul Caliber 5 - I'd like to get a copy of that one on the Xbox because my wife will play it with me. She's loved this series.

I'm going to pass on Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning for now, that demo was horrible. The interface was an afront to design and the cut to cut scenes was just unexcusably bad. Of course the combat was fun, I mean lots of fun.

I think Syndicate will be a rental for me, I'd prefer to play that one on the PC though. Maybe Onlive will have it up.

Honestly the game I'm looking forward to doesn't came out till March 6th I think, so it didn't make this list. :)

@Martin

I hath voted you down, good sir, for these reasons three!

  1. Soul Caliber 5 on the XBox? The PS3 has a much better directional pad!
  2. Kingdoms of Amalur demo was a little clunky, but still a must own!
  3. The third reason! (that I didnt have, but things sound better in threes)

I bid you good day!

@Arturis

Good sir the gauntlet has been tossed!

1. I don't own a PS3, plus that is what arcade sticks are made for.

2. Clunky and I don't have the time to take away from Skyrim. I'll see it on steam at about 19.99 or less and grab it then.

3. MUWHAHAHAHAHAHA

You'll see Reckoning at 19.99 in about 2 years, and by then you'll have read my review and been forced to buy it.  Demo was clunky, game is FAR from it.
