When gamers get together for a social event, it’s a pretty fun time. When they get together to help out their fellow man, it’s a touching occurrence that even affects my own cynical heart.
The people behind website Pure Nintendo have announced that they will be holding a special charity gaming event in order to help one Daniel Harper, in his battle against cancer. They will undertaking a 48 hour gaming marathon, during which they will be playing several online Wii games against each other, as well as anyone else that wants to hop in on the action. The marathon is set to start August 20 at 7pm, EST.
The entire event will be streamed on the Pure Nintendo website, and viewers are encouraged to donate their time and/or money to help support the cause. They will be shooting to raise $2000, which will be going directly to the Harpers to help pay for Daniel’s cancer treatment.
If you’ve got a few bucks to spare, or are just looking to have some fun gaming with other people, go ahead and check out their site for all the info you’ll need. Remember, it’s all for a good cause.
