Joymax has decided to set its open beta testing for its upcoming MMO, Digimon Masters for September 27th. That’s right, a Digimon MMO. You know… Digimon, those sometimes cute digital creatures capable of wreaking havoc and absolute mayhem (remember the first movie?). With hundreds of digimon from all the original TV series roaming the digital world eagerly waiting for you to capture and train them, you for once can feel what it’s like to approach the title of digi-master.
Upon download, players will be able to choose on 3 main characters, or tamers, to play as, each with different stats and characteristics that affect any and all digimon. You get Marcus who boosts your digimon’s attack power, Thomas who boosts your digimon’s agility, and Yoshino who has the highest MP allowing for more skill-usage. Character selection has different benefits and weaknesses in terms of how your digimon will fight so choose one that fits your playstyle.
Whether or not you will be able to make your own character or choose between others on actual release is still a mystery. Selecting a character is one thing, but capturing and collecting your favorite digimon is another, which all have their own unique stats and skills.
As you progress in levels, your digimon will digi-volve into the different stages of life. Agumon will eventually evolve into Greymon and Greymon will evolve into Wargreymon. It appears the tamer and the digimon have different levels at this time which allows for swapping and training of a wider variety of digimon. So essentially, you can perhaps go about playing the game just collecting a bunch of digimon as pets.
I’m relatively excited to try the game actually. It seems fun for all ages, has a very “easy to handle” user-interface, and according to the developers, accurately re-creates the digital world most of us have loved at one point in our lives. The concept seems great, where you as the player are very vulnerable and rely on your monstrous pets to fight for you. The release date is not set quite yet, but at the very least, you get to try the game very soon.
I cannot wait to try this, finally they make a good Digimon game, or hopefully good. Beelzamon for the win haha
I tried making an account and I couldn't make one, it constantly was telling me that there was an error. I tried several times.
Thank you for Notifying that this game exists, beause its AWESOME!!!
