Now that we have so many new faces around the site, I'm seeing a lot of Game Geex logos in the comments. This got me thinking that perhaps our newest community members don't have any ideas about upgrading their avatars. Finding avatars that fit your interests sometimes can be difficult. It's particularly challenging because we as gamers want to be defined as unique.
Well in the interest of saving you time, I spent a couple hours coming the interwebs for some images that might suit some of your tastes. Choose any that you like, right click and save them to your computer, then head on over to the settings section (link right up there by your name when you're logged in, and upload the image to your profile. If there are any avatars that you would like me to add to the post (maybe your favorite game is missing, or you're really a cuddly ducky kinda guy) let me know and I'll see about updating our selection.
This isn't mandatory by any means, but more of your friendly neighborhood Game Geex staffer looking to save you some time and help you customize your profile all in one blow. Granted, if you're the DIY type, you can make your own custom avatars, as long as their are 400 x 400 (that's pixels). Or you can just use what we have here. Might I suggest the hot dog?

Or they can put a fabulous mug-shot of themselves, but if I had to pick one... it would definitely be the hotdog, ha!

Nice selection, I would recommend some older selections as well, such as: Halo2/3 and maybe some street fighter characters

lol It's considered the most popular manga series "OF ALL TIME". The anime is on episode 517, and isn't even halfway. It's a story about fulfilling dreams.

I've been scratching my head about this and I was wondering, can I upload a moving GIF as an avatar? I mean still pictures are awesome, but a moving picture is entertaining.

At the moment we don't support .gif uploads. Might be something we can look into for the future, but it's not on our priority list at this point in time.

Actually, animated gifs are specifically blocked from being used as avatars. I find them way too distracting when Im trying to read through the comments. If you want to impress, do so with your words, not your ability to upload a 4mb animated gif of whatever the latest popular meme is. ^_^
On a slightly related note, there are plans for a completely different sort of (optional) avatar in the future, but I cant talk about it just yet. I said nothing. Nothing.

Thanks for posting the cat avatar. I love kittens, can't own one though because I am highly allergic. I know, it sucks.
