What I want to know is, exactly what sort of plans did the manticore have? Was he out for a stroll or looking to pick some flowers when this obviously suicidal goomba in leather armor just happened by?  And what does said soldier have in that inordinately large back on his belt?  I'm guessing beef jerky, and as everyone knows, it's what manticores crave.
