Riot Game’s arena-based competitive title has just become the most played PC game in the current industry. A study was done using XFire’s 21 million users to determine the hours played on certain games and clocked at over 1.2 Billion hours of gameplay in one year stands MOBA titan, League of Legends. Move aside World of Warcraft. (Never thought I’d say that for awhile)
Despite the numbers, the study is kind of misleading because it was done using XFire players, which is basically a gamer’s Facebook. However, most of the people I play with on LoL don’t even know what an XFire is so those numbers definitely should be higher, The fact that a video game can accumulate over a billion hours of virtual life in one year is still impressive in my opinion. I remember Bungie doing a study for Halo, which clocked over 2 billion hours of gameplay. That however, was done in a span of seven years but games on Halo are quite a bit shorter.

That is pretty impressive stuff, even if the data is a bit skewed.
Soooo... I've kind of never played League of Legends.... /ducks
How to describe a MOBA/DOTA style game... hmm... Take Warcraft III, strip out the base building, and set inside a two way tower defence game with stores and special abili-
Screw it, Just download the damn game. Its free, and the download will take less time than it would take to explain it.
^ This. I would've just said there are characters you move around the map thingy where you try to destroy turrets in order to take the big crystal thingy at the end of the brick road.
