I am the wimp from King's Quest. Lovely. Where are my spandex?

That's incredible.
There are two reasons I stopped reading GamePro (and all gaming magazines for that matter):
1. Ninety-nine of my gaming is on a PS3 and the other 1% is PC. I am not interested in purchasing an XBox or Nintendo device, especially not the latter. As such, I don't want to pay for a magazine that devotes equal time to all platforms. Of course, I understand why they did it but it didn't serve me well and, after all, that's why we pay for magazines.
2. I don't even read PlayStation-centric versions of magazines because I really only play three games: NCAA Football, the Shooter du Jour, and the Platformer du Jour (Ratchet, God of War). That's it. SO, having a magazine tell me about all of these other games will either be useless to me or, worse, frustrating that I can't pull myself away from the games I am enslaved.
I am so glad I moved on to Rift.

Ah, good point. If they could ever get around that, it would be brilliant since sports inherently comes with its own competition structure and ruleset.
Speaking of eSports, I find it crazy that sports are absent from any of the gaming leagues. I partcipate in a NCAA Football - for PS3 - league. If you know college football, then you know there are 120 Division I-A (FBS) teams. As such, we have 120 individual guys particpating in the league. If you take a look at our website (see below), you will see that this isn't some simple pastime. We have stat tracking and writing that rivals the major real-life sports stats. The league is 24 seasons old and has been running since 2004.
Now, I know they have Madden tournaments, but what about an entire league for the sports games? I simply do not understand why this hasn't come to be as of yet.

I generally don't acquire games in that fashion. In fact, of all of the games I have recently torrent'ed, I purchased them all on one platform or the other (Fallout: New Vegas, Stracraft 3, and Battlefield 3). Now, to be perfectly honest, the main reason I don't pirate games is that I enjoy the trophies, online play, and DLC ... all of which cannot (at least the first two) be enjoyed with a non-retail game.
As for the game, the best review I heard about the game needed only one sentence. "They [Bethesda] simply dropped an entire country into a box."
