Despite contesting against mixed reviews from critics and many players asking if it was worth the wait, Duke Nukem still manages to become one of the top selling games in the U.K., according to gameindustry.biz.
Duke Nukem Forever, the game many people thought would never exist, managed to snag the top spot on the U.K. sales charts, knocking off Rockstar's title, L.A. Noire. Over 50% of the sales were attributed to the Xbox 360 version of the game, with a small portion of that going towards the special edition. Meanwhile, Infamous 2 debuted on the charts at the number four slot, while Red Faction: Armageddon popped on at number eight.
As for what could attribute to the game's success, that can possibly stand for debate. Some may say that it's because of the nostolgic factor. Others may argue that it's simply because people want to be able to finally play the sequel they were promised many moons ago. And others may say that the game is really just that damn good.
Duke Nukem Forever is set to be released this week to NA audiences. Keep an eye on our site for the review later this week.
