This past weekend, I was able to get a taste of the Warcraft movie at BlizzCon 2014. What do I think you ask? It looks amazing. The amount of detail they have put into the moves is stunning. There was a part where they show us a glimpse of Stormwind and no joke, it came straight out of the game (no move gimmicks here!). I was told they built the set in real life to look exactly like what it does in game, and well, they weren't kidding.
The movie is almost all live action, but they are working hard to make it feel like all live action. At BlizzCon, they had the armor that King Llane wore, it has the alliance feel to it. They also had the leather armor that Durotan wore. It had a Frostwolf aesthetic feel to it.
They wanted to make a movie that not only the people who play Warcraft could understand, but everyone. The movie takes place from the very beginning: Warcraft 1. This is were we meet Medivh who opens the dark portal to let the Orcs into Azeroth. Little did the races of Azeroth know that the Orcs were corrupted and wanted to conquore the land. But not all the orcs were currupted. This enter Durotan, Thrall's dad, and Orgrim. They are like the founding memebers of the Horde. With this set up, it will allow them to tell the story for those who haven’t played the game.
From what I saw, and I hope and I am pretty sure this will happen, that they will make another movie, if not a lot more, after this one. The movie is going to be huge. It’s like Lord of Rings, but with Warcraft that we have come to know and love.
