Attention iPhone owners! The PSP classic, Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions is on its way to an iStore near you!

Although the game was delayed months backs, the Final Fantasy Tactics port will be available to download this coming Thursday, which is fantastic news. The Tactics games are some of my favourite pieces by Square, with a good tactical combat system and an amazing soundtrack, composed by the legendary Hitoshi Sakimoto (who is not unfamiliar to the world of Ivalice).

Unfortunately, smartphone owners using the android and windows7 OS will sadly be unable to access the game. Nonetheless, the port might show those casual gamers out there some real gaming magic (not that Angry Birds or Cut the Rope are lacking in fun).

If you’re using the significantly larger iPad, than you are in luck also, because Square is working on porting the port to Apple’s tablet system. See, the iPad can be useful! Cheers Square!

Bad news though is that the game will only work on 3GS devices, and sadly, no multiplayer.
