A nice surprise will hit stores in Japan in the form of the ‘magical’ Ni no Kuni PS3 bundle, a special pack intended to hit stores November 17.
The pack will contain a Ni no Kuni Magical Edition PlayStation 3 console, and a copy of the game itself. The title is a collaboration between Level 5 (Professor Layton, Dark Cloud) and Studio Ghibli, a famous Japanese animation film studio responsible for movies such as Spirited Away and Howl’s Moving Castle. The game itself is your traditional turn-based RPG, where you are able to train and raise monsters of your own to battle with, much like Pokemon and other such Monster RPGs.
Studio Ghibli is as popular overseas as it is in its home country, and their first step into the video game industry is predicted to be a big one. I only have to think of Kingdom Hearts to know how successful collaborations can be. If Disney can do it, I have no doubts that Level 5 and Studio Ghibli would be able to do the same with Ni no Kuni.
Unfortunately, the game is still only slated for a Japanese release, but should definitely be seeing its way overseas.
