Well, it's not that Halo Movie we’ve been waiting for but it’s good enough for me, for now… Microsoft just announced they will be releasing five 15-minute webisodes called “Halo 4: Forward unto Dawn”, featuring a cadet who runs into the Master Chief early-on and uses him as a role model to rise above the ranks and eventually become an officer in the UNSC Infinity.

The webisodes will tie into the overall plot of Halo 4 and will release on certain days leading up to November 6, which is the game’s official launch date. Not much else is known about the series like who will play what part or anything or even when the first episode will launch, but the included high-resolution shot of the Master Chief's back is hawt. Did I just write that? Yup, and proud of it.

"Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn" will air on Machinima.com and the official Halo Waypoint in the weeks before the game launches on November 6. Click the jumper to see the full-sized Master Chief image.
