Square Enix has presented a list of all the games that will be present at this year’s Tokyo Game Show. The famous Japanese video game expo is a little more than a couple of weeks away, and with the past few years being unusually hard for the gaming giant, I think the world will be watching  closely at what Square brings to the table this year.

As far as common knowledge goes, Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Final Fantasy Type Zero were pretty much no-brainers for the convention. A couple of RPG titans, however,  are getting charged onto to the Nintendo 3DS as well – the unusually named Slime MoriMori Dragon Quest 3 and the cleverly titled Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. Music video games are huge in Japan, and Square’s jumping on the band wagon incredibly late with another 3DS title, Thearhythem:  Final Fantasy.

Other titles included will be Fortune Street for the Wii, CHAOS RINGSs Lite for GREE for the iPhone, Square Enix Publishing (a manga reading program) for the iPhone, and Knights of the Crystals, a browser game for social sites which I distinctly remember being released last year. It could be a different title all together, but the resemblance seems uncanny. There will also be videos for Dues Ex: Human Revolution, a Dragon Quest collection for the Wii, Modern Warfare 3, and Chaos Rings II.

In doesn’t take a mentalist to know that I’m still peeved about FF Versus XIII’s absence from TGS, but I think this year’s list looks pretty decent.  Japanese gaming has not been that big in the west as it once was, but this may be the decade that Square finally makes its comeback... or not.
