BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend is currently set to be released as a PSVita launch title for Japan in December, with all other regions playing a guessing game as to when they get theirs. When that does happen though, as far as NA goes at least, a console version is definitely in line to be out at the same time.

Extend brings a bunch of new content for fans, which includes the addition of all of the current DLC characters, Makoto, Valkenhayn, and Platinum, and introducing the newly playable Relius Clover. It’ll also come with a revised story mode for the events during Calamity Trigger, with scenarios for each of the new characters. Online is also getting improvements such as team battles, and the entire roster is getting balance changes to bring them more in line with each other.

The only problem at this point, is that there’s no confirmation of a disc-based release, nor if it’s going to be a digital download. Personally, I’m hoping for the latter, because that’d suck for anyone that purchased the DLC characters already (including myself). Unless they have some sort of compensation deal in the works. Can’t we just get the balance patch for free like what we did for CS2?

Update: Just received confirmation from Aksys, publisher for the BlazBlue games, that all versions of Extend will be available at retail. No price point has been set so far.

No Michael of course you can't just get the balance patch for FREE. Just kidding, I don't know if you will be compensated. I think that people who have purchased the DLC characters already should receive a free download. All developers should make it so that people that have purchased DLC before and the developers are just building upon that DLC, should get the new stuff for free. This reminds me of the Black Ops Resurrection DLC being free for hardened edition owners, which was really nice of Treyarch (Activision).
