Atlus put up a teaser site not too long ago hinting at something Persona related. Lo and behold, news has come out of the woodwork over several upcoming titles.
First up is a remake of Persona 4, being called Persona 4: The Golden. Being developed for the PS Vita, it'll have a bunch of new features, including new characters, more voice acting and animated sequences, and even wireless support that allows you to call out to friends for assistance if you're getting your ass handed to you in a battle. This one is due out Spring 2012. Atlus also revealed that development has started on a Persona 5, though not much info is out on that at this time, other than the usual team is working on it.
Biggest news to come out, though? A Persona fighting game. No, that's not a typo. Atlus is pairing up with Arc System Works (the people behind Guilty Gear and BlazBlue) to make a 2D fighting game that's being called Persona 4: The Ultimate In Mayonaka Arena. The story will take place two months after the events of Persona 4, and will have characters representing both 3 and 4. It is set to be out in arcades in Spring 2012, and on consoles in the summer of the same year. Not much is known about the title besides that.
Anyone else expecting some JoJo's Bizarre Adventure style gameplay?
[UPDATE] Famitsu has snagged some screenshots pertaining to both The Golden and Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena and posted them for viewing. Check them out here and here.
