Sure, Dark Souls, the spiritual successor to the original Demon’s Souls, is already out in Japan, with the western version coming in just a couple of weeks. But that’s not stopping people from still enjoying where the insanity started.
That’s why Atlus, being as awesome as they are, announced that they are going to be keeping the servers for Demon’s Souls running throughout 2012. “While the reality is that one day the servers will ultimately close due to operation and maintenance costs,” Aram Jabbari, Manager of PR and Sales, said, “that day is not today, nor will it be this year. We're excited to continue to support one of the most significant, influential games in recent memory into its third year, and we're planning to hold more tendency events for our loyal, beloved fans.”
Speaking of tendency events, Atlus also revealed that they have plans for Pure White and Pure Black events around the holiday season, the details of which are to be disclosed at a later date. And if you have yet to experience the brutality of the game yourself, the title is now available for the budget price of $19.99. Just expect to get your ass handed to you. Repeatedly.
