Good morning Geex! Today we're talking television, you know that thing you watch when you're not playing games. A couple days ago Joystiq discussed the fact that there seems to be a Family Guy game in the works, and that got me thinking about TV gaming crossovers.
While there have been plenty of video games based on movies, there haven't been many successful games made about TV shows. Simpsons Hit and Run immediately comes to mind when I think about good games made in this genre, but the idea of TV shows becoming games sort of intrigues me. I guess it's because I love the idea of interacting with the stories I watch on TV.
So I thought I would bring up the question to you fine geex out there. What TV shows would you like to see made into video games? And which are your favorite TV based games?
Firefly.
While we know Notch is working on a "Firefly inspired" game, Id love to have a real, honest-to-goodness Joss Whedon Approved[TM] Firefly title to spend countless hours in. Maybe even a squad-based title, allowing each player to take a different role in operating a smuggling ship, complete with ground missions and space combat.
Well, considering I was dreaming about it last night, I'm going to say Chopped. Of course in my dream I didn't even get my chicken portioned because I was too into making sure all my email was read. Hopefully there won't be much blogging in the video game version.
Hmmm that's a hard one. Do cartoons count? Cause i'm all for a totally rated-M ACME game where you can do anything you want in the most violent yet goofiest fashion ":3.
I'm also all for a The Avatar MMO or RPG... the one that has benders not blue people ":3
The Simpsons games that have released like Road Rage, Hit and Run, and The recent Simpsons game were all great to me, and some of my favorite games. I think that they should make a Roughnecks game, the television show based off of Starship Troopers. Or if they make a family guy hit and run. lol
A Firefly game in the genre of Starflight? Oh yeah that would rock.
Manimal or The Highway Man, I'd play those if the right people did them.
