Have you wondered why Assassin's Creed Revelations and Assassin's Creed Brotherhood look so much alike? Well, it's because they are built on the same engine. Ever since Assassin's Creed II Ubisoft has been working on building an entirely new engine, dubbed Ubisoft-AnvilNext. This is the new powerhouse behind Assassin's Creed III, and they're proud to show it off today.
This new engine allows for revolutionary physics, animation and weather systems that should provide us with a revamped gaming experience that turns everything up a notch. We'll be able to check it out for ourselves when the game launches October 30th. I personally am excited to learn more about the tech behind the game, and what these improvements mean for the franchise. Join me after the jump and let's watch the video together.
That's pretty sweet... and dramatic. I'm liking how the weather works as well as being able to have all those NPCs in one sequence. The motion is a lot more fluid as well. Though, I still can't wait for Unreal Engine 4... the demo for that was insane.
