Yesterday Blizzard Entertainment announced the ticketing information for BlizzCon 2013. Tickets for the convention will go on sale in two batches: April 24th and 7pm and again on April 27th at 10 AM -- both times Blizzard Standard Time (read: PST). The ticket itself will cost $175.00 USD.
Now if that's not enough dough for you, you can plunk down an extra $500 bucks to attend the Blizzard dinner before the convention, where you can hob nob with the devs and pitch your winning game idea to Rob Pardo (Irritated Toilet Ducks! It can't lose!). All proceeds for the dinner go to CHOC - Children's Hospital of Orange County. As a parent of a child who needed hospitalization, I really appreciate their choice of charities. Tickets for the charity dinner go on sale May 1st.
So why go to this year's BlizzCon? Well there are a couple huge announcements coming: The next WoW expansion, and the Project Titan reveal. In addition attendees will get a chance (I expect) to play Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft. In addition you have details about the third StarCraft II expansion, and probably even Diablo III playable on the PS4. I'm even hoping for WoW movie news. So yeah, it's going to be a good year to head to the Anaheim Convention Center.
Those of you who can't attend will have access to the Virtual Ticket. More details on that to come.
So ladies and gents, it's time to upgrade your Internet connection, or better yet get your schedule changed at work so that you'll be at your desk during the sale times so you can take advantage of the company T1 line. Your boss will love your initiative, and you'll love getting to see Jay Mohr (possibly) get heckled by geeks for mistaking a Protoss for a Pandaren.
