ALLLL OFF MY RAGE AND SAAADDS! Unfortunately, the headline is true as we are now officially done with April Fools. Disney has officially announced they will be killing LucasArts and sending current projects such as Star Wars: 1313 and Star Wars: First Assault to the chopping block.

"After evaluating our position in the games market, we've decided to shift LucasArts from an internal development to a licensing model, minimizing the company's risk while achieving a broader portfolio of quality Star Wars games. As a result of this change, we've had layoffs across the organization. We are incredibly appreciative and proud of the talented teams who have been developing our new titles."

i'm so sad to hear this news today. Both First Assault and 1313 looked brilliant but once again, will not see the light of day much like the previous controversial title, Star Wars: Battlefront 3. Though I can see Disney's reasoning, I mean LucasArts most recent titles like The Force Unleashed 2 were quite disappointing. The semi-good news to come out of this is Disney has opted to turn the company into a means of licensing projects so it might not be impossible for someone to acquire these fallen titles.

So what do you guys think? Personally, I think LucasArts had a good run, but didn't get a chance to show us what they could do with 1313. Anyways, i'm going to go sit inside my Star Wars shrine and mourn the loss for a few hours.

LucasArts wasn't just a game studio, it was a institution. Much like Origin and Westwood Studios, it will be sorely missed.

Oh Disney, I do love you, but why do you hurt me?

Maybe he can change, if only I stay by his side.  No one else understands him like I do.  He needs me.  Right?

Yea. A lot of great games came out of LucasArts. I think they should've waited for the aftermath of Star Wars: 1313. Successful? Keep going? Failure? Make changes. I think the trigger was pulled way too soon.
