So you’re out on a vacation on a beautiful paradise, secluded from work or school. You start partying. You’re having the time of your life… All of a sudden one of the party guests you believe was drunk starts mauling someone’s neck off. You hardly notice it, you think it’s just young love in action till you turn the corner and something grabs you. You quickly get away… You look around… You notice zombies are devouring everyone! Ever picture that scenario? I’m sure you have, but now, you can read it in text!
Today, Bantam just announced that they will making a novel based on the very popular, unreleased video game, Dead Island. It will be written by the author, Mark Morris who won the British Fantasy Award for editing a collection of horror movie essays. The story will take place on the paradise island of Banoi, where you will follow four individuals unaffected by the zombie outbreak in their story to do what they can to survive and protect as many survivors as they can from a horrible fate.
The books usually have more content than their video game and movie counterparts but if the option is there, I’m definitely a person that would rather hack some zombies to bits with my thumbs than read about another character doing it. Nonetheless, Dead-Island appears to actually be a story-driven, zombie survival genre, so all of you who are into the typical zombie stories might find this a good read.
The book is set for a simultaneous release with the video game on September 6th and will run you about $11.
