Yeah! New Metal Gear game! Wait…? Where’s all the stealth, espionage, and all the sneaky sneaky stuff? Yup, it’s time for “Jack to let it rip!” And I’m not talking about Beyblade, nor is the main character named Jack. It’s a whole new genre in the Metal Gear world. This time you get to play as the cyborg ninja, Raiden.
With the new ultra-fast lightning gameplay, gore, and melee combat, they might as well slap Ninja Gaiden on the box. I can’t really tell where the game is headed, but all I know is the game is not for the faint of heart, unless you enjoy limb cutting and more blood than Saw.
The trailer doesn’t reveal a whole lot of where this all takes place, whether Solid Snake will make an appearance, but it does tell us the game is a hack and slash, quite literally. I can say the trailer itself is cool, like most of them, but will the game follow suit?
Trailer cheesiness aside, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance takes a whole new approach from the Metal Gear we all know and love. The game is definitely a lot more “upfront”, and the only buttons you need to worry about are ones that slice and dice. It’s like gory Fruit Ninja! To some extent, that adds variety to the series, but is it for the better? Watch it for yourself and let us know what you think.

Actually, if you played Metal Gear Solid 2, Raiden is referred to by the name Jack through out the majority of the game, and in the end it is revealed that he was given the nickname Jack the Ripper as a soldier-child for how well he took to killing.
