Blog Post

According to Kotaku, a “retail source” leaked a poster for Treyarch’s upcoming title, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. The poster has the “Black Op” image on it with the date “May 2nd, 2012” bolded in white across it and “return for debriefing” below it.  I’m going to assume that that’s the date of the reveal since it says “debriefing” and not “deploying” or something along those lines. No one is sure whether or not this poster is legitimate but it’s more likely to be than not. Call of Duty is typically revealed sometime before E3, with the expo featuring a first-look at the gameplay, then generally launches towards the end of the year for the Holidays.

We all sort of already knew the game was coming. Heck, I was even talking about the game’s eventual map design with a Treyarch game dev at the 2011 XP event. The question is, will the game break its own records once again with the release of Halo 4? And of course, will the game offer something new? Well, we’ll just have to wait and see won’t we?

Stop by May 2nd for a full analysis on the upcoming reveal, should there be one on that day. Click the jumper to see the full poster.

Activision never ceases to amaze me with their desire to burn out a franchise. -.-
