I gotta say, I'm a little disappointed that the first The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim DLC Dawnguard is just a vampire story. I'm even more bummed that this game add-on will be only available for Xbox 360 versions of the game -- but I guess when I look back at my previous statement, maybe I'm not so bummed about the exclusive nature of the DLC after all.
I admit that the trailer they released today is intriguing, and more than a bit creepy. I just somehow wish that there were more stories out there that didn't resort to the stale vampire, werewolf, zombie tropes.
No word yet on when Dawnguard will drop from the rafters and attempt to suck your blood. We'll hear more about it when we meet with Bethesda next week at E3. Let's hope these guys don't sparkle.
You sure it's an xbox exclusive? I know xbox was getting it first but the original word was the rest of us lot would get it after a certain amount of time.
I can see from the trailer they are using mechanics they showed off from the jamfest. Even if it's vamps, vamps have always been a part of the Elder Scrolls series and I am game to join up with the Dawnguard and stomp some blood sucking rear.
Eh.. I was never big on the vampire aspect of the game, so while the trailer does look intriguing, the story and themes explored aren't enough to peak my interest, sadly.
Well, the Xbox 360 info comes direct from the original announcement on the Bethesda blog, linked above. I can only go from what they tell us, and the fact that they only mention Xbox 360 seems to lend itself to being exclusive. I'll know more after our appointment with them next week.
Facts!?! Damn it! :)
Well if you are seeing Bethesda next week give them a big hug from me and tell them to ignore the unmarked car that parks outside their offices.
