I’m sure a lot of you have heard of Minecraft, that awesome blocky building world. And I’m sure a lot of you have heard of, seen, played, or threw knives at your teammates in a first-person shooter game. Well, now let’s take both worlds and mash them together in one fabulously violent and creative medley!

Being developed by a team known as Exato Games, Guncraft brings the best of both the shooter and building worlds together, creating a completely new Voxel-based FPS shooting experience. The goal is to create a shooter with a truly destructible environment. Not just walls or pieces of cover, but flooring, bridges, and entire buildings will be fully breakable! And best of all, using Minecraft as inspiration, players will be able to create their own block-world maps without limitation and then share and utterly decimate them with the world. The possibilities are endless.

The neat thing about Guncraft is it’s using a Kickstarter system to help fund the project. By donating money to the cause, you not only help the development of the game but should the monetary goal be reached, you’ll get some unique rewards and prizes depending on how you helped. But remember, the way Kickstarter works is it is all or nothing so spread the word to help Exato reach their goal! You can check out the prizes and donation kits here.

Guncraft is set for a June 2012 release for PC with a beta set for March 2012. The game is also scheduled to come out as an Xbox Live Indie Game, but there's no word on a release date. Anyways, here’s a neat little block-world reiteration of the Modern Warfare 3 Noob & Veteran trailer.
