Team Ninja seems to be quite capable of running things, even without Itagaki manning the helm. Not only is this evident with the announcement of a new Ninja Gaiden game, but they’ve also announced production of Dead or Alive 5.

The trailer they’ve put out shows a pre-alpha build, showcasing returning characters Hayate and Ryu Hayabusa fighting on top of a building, surrounded by construction equipment. The trailer shows off how the stages are constantly changing in regards to the action, as seen when Ryu gets knocked into an electrical cabinet and activates a swinging crane that knocks over anything in its path, constricting the arena. According to IGN, the stages are designed to “no longer be ‘sidekicks’ to the action, but critical parts of the competitive experience.”

Other than that key difference, DoA5 is shaping up to have the same high impact action that the series is known for. Team Ninja also put out a mysterious promotional image to coincide with the reveal, tempting those curious to its significance. Check both the trailer and the image after the jump.
