Love Minecraft and wish you could play it on the go but don't want to shell out the extra cash for an Xperia Play?  Now thanks to Robots and Pencils you can oggle your project collections on the go.  They new app called Minecraft World Explorer allows players to import their saved Minecraft games, letting them take their existing worlds on the go with iPad, iPhone, and Android devices. Even better, for a limited time the app is free.

There are a couple of apps out there that let you import Minecraft assets and tinker with them, but this one has the distinction of allowing full Minecraft levels regardless of size.  Obsession is just an iTunes/App Store click away.  Hit the jump to watch the video of the app in action.

I'll have to give this a shot and see if it's better than the xperia app I have. Frankly I was extremely disappointed in the xperia app. The features were very limited and the world size was tiny. Plus having none of the features we've gotten used to over the past year was shocking.

So far from what we've seen there's a decent amount of basic crafting functionality.  They don't have all of the new materials, but it at least let's you mess around with the base set.
