It's been a long time coming, but Patch 1.7 launched into Minecraft today, adding pistons and shears to the game. Of course, for those of us who mod the game, we'll have to wait until Bukkit updates before we can start building our piston-powered mega machines. Personally, I look forward to adding hidden doors to my current project.
Here are the offiicial patch notes from 1.7, in case you missed them:
Note: Sheep no longer drop wool from being punched
And finally, to celebrate the new patch, here's the official Minecraft 1.7 trailer, although the behind the scenes is equally, if not more, interesting.
A shame, really, because I had so much fun punching sheep in the nose.
In the nose.
More resourses should be harvested that way.
It's true, he did. You should have heard him taunting the sheep as he went. "C'mere sheep! You're so gonna get punched in the nose!"
I must admit I have yet to try this game out.. and I generally try A LOT of games out. Maybe it's finally time to give it a whirl. I heard this may be coming to PSN and/or Xbox Live? ...with integrated Move or Kinect support would it make the game more fun? I have no idea since I've never played this before.

Dont worry about the double post, I still havent added code in to lock them down so they are popping up from time to time.
Regarding Minecraft, the best way Ive heard it described it Legos + Resident Evil. The very first thing you have to do when you sign in is to scramble to figure out how the game works, because once night falls you better have a shelter or you are monster chow. And dont even get my started on Creepers...
Yep, I call it Lego: Resident Evil and it really fits. But if you like building stuff this is definitely the game for you.
