Aliens: Colonial Marines was a game I’ve been waiting on for quite some time. But after being quiet for awhile it kind of just flew over my radar. However, at E3 2012, I was reminded the game still existed and got to take a look at the multiplayer as well as what the developers plans are for the game.
Apparently, Colonial Marines is the sequel to the movies in video game form. Kind of cool actually. The development team spent a lot of time thinking everything through because they wanted the gameplay experience to be as true to the Aliens universe as possible. They brought many of the fictional weaponry and aliens to life in Colonial Marines and even had to work the sci-fi, fictional magic with imagining objects and weapons we’ve heard of, yet never seen, like the Sonic Electronic Ball Breaker, which was referenced in the original movies, yet never actually seen in action. I have to be the one to say it, but the graphics were rather subpar. Not a big deal to me, but might be for others. Fortunately, the gameplay experience seems like it’ll be a fun ride with all the creative features they plan to add in by final launch date.
Unfortunately, no gameplay on the Xenomorph side of the multiplayer but I’m sure we’re bound to find out more soon. The game does launch on February of 2013. Stay tuned for more E3 2012 information! Check out the video below for a small taste of Aliens: Colonial Marines!
