Gaming is an interactive medium like no other.  We not only watch the stories unfold, we participate in them, sometimes even seeing them in 3D.  We have the tactile feedback of the controller in our hands, rumbling away as we navigate our virtual worlds.  The music and sound effects pound their way into our consciousness, filling our ears.  There's really only two senses that gaming doesn't monopolize when we play, and as of today Capcom is making plans to conquer one of them: scent.

Today Capcom announced that they have made what might be the strangest partnership deal in years.  They are combining forces with Epic-scents, and custom fragrance company, to create some sort of secret product line.  The image they sent out with the announcement is of Mega Man, so I can only assume that they are creating a new controller that allows you to smell the exhaust from his energy beams.  Or maybe it's just a line of Eau de Mega Man scents sold in Hot Topics nationwide.  

It sounds strange, but stranger things have come out of Japan, so I'm not going to rule this out until they actually reveal this product line they claim will "add a new dimension to their franchise characters."  Will this be a flop?  Let's just say I'm not holding my breath.
