It was just announced by Konami that the premium edition, which I’ll assume is the highest edition, of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will include a plasma-based sword lamp, which can be seen at the end of the article, based on Raiden’s blade that players will get to use in-game to assault their victims. The lamp is the big thang in this deal but the collector’s edition will also include a soundtrack and some sort of “special package” which I assume is in-game content or quite possibly, a steel-case and art book.

I’ll have to admit, Metal Gear Rising sort of flew over my radar till just recently when a new gameplay trailer was revealed at TGS 2012. The game does look awesome and I can’t wait to play it, even though it takes a totally different approach from the classic Metal Gear games featuring Solid Snake.

Unfortunately, no details on price have been announced even though the game is scheduled for launch on February 19^th, 2013. However, I will assume the price point will match today’s collector’s edition price tag of around $149, but that’s just a guess. If the price is right, would you buy?
