News

If there's one thing I've learned to dislike as a journalist, it's rumors. Thankfully, THQ seems to feel the same way, as they've recently spoke out to clear the air over a series of them that popped up over the weekend.

Originally, it was thought that their upcoming Warhammer 40k MMO title was canceled, along with everything else that was planned to release in 2014. This was started when Kevin Dent, CEO of Tiswaz Entertainment, made a series of posts on his Twitter regarding the state of the 2014 titles. Along with the cancelation of the MMO and changed plans, he alleged that the company was selling IPs back to their original owners, specifically mentioning Disney franchises.

THQ, meanwhile, gave out an official statement, stating that "we have made decisions to ensure that the company is strategically addressing the most attractive markets. As we have previously announced, we have dramatically reduced our commitment to the kids' boxed games sector which leads to a significantly more focused release schedule moving forward." The company also clearly stated that they have not canceled their 2014 plans, and that they haven't made any recent decisions on the MMO.

Honestly, it's hard to tell who is telling the truth anymore, and who is talking out of their ass. Just make sure you at least take anything publicly posted on Twitter of all places with a grain of salt.
