It’s finally happened! Dogs have taken over the world! Well not really, but it turns out that Nintendo has decided to hire a dog to fill in the role of spokesperson, well spokesdog in this case…

Uggie, the oh-so talented Jack Russell Terrier, has teamed up with Nintendo of America to help promote their pet simulation games such as the Nintendogs series. Fitting, no? It’s not to say Uggie doesn’t have any experience as he did co-star in the comedic French drama, The Artist, which by the way was a wonderful movie.

The real point behind all of this is Uggie and his owner, Omar Von Muller, want to celebrate February as the Responsible Pet Owner Month. They intend to do this by promoting the fact that simulation games like Nintendogs/cats gives players valuable lessons on how to care for their wonderful pets in real life. This, I approve of. So if you just happen to be a pet owner reading this article, maybe give your non-human companion an extra hug for the occasion.
