Adventure Time fans rejoice and cry “Oh my glob!” as their hopes for a video game have now been answered in the form of the action-adventure ‘Hey Ice King! Why’d You Steal Our Garbage?!’ based on the popular Cartoon Network TV show. Why would Ice King want to steal Finn and Jake’s garbage anyway, you may ask? Why, to build a Garbage Princess, of course.
In the game, you’ll get to control either Finn or Jake, as you embark on a fantastical journey through the ‘post-apocalyptic’ Land of Ooo, to track down the Ice King and teach him a lesson! Full of perilous dungeons and unimaginable treasures, it’s sure to be one hell of an adventure, and it sounds to me like it’s going to be pretty authentic one, chock full of everything that had us falling in love with the series in first place.
With WayForward Technologies (Contra 4, Shantae: Risky’s Revenge, A Boy and His Blob, BloodRayne: Betrayal) leading the way and Pendleton Ward (the show's creator) to guide them, writing the storyline and designing quests for the game, hopes are high that it will compliment the series nicely, and stay true to Adventure Time’s original humorous and MATHEMATICAL flavor.
I’ve yet to experience playing a 2D game in glasses-free 3D, but the concept is definitely intriguing, and I look forward to seeing what they’re able to do with the idea. The title will become available both Nintendo DS and 3DS, with a release planned for Fall 2012.
Don’t forget to check out a few of Pen’s game-related doodles and initial concept ideas for the game below. A few of which give away hints at ideas ranging from wacky to awesome, with hammer “bearing” turtle boss fights, and the option of be able to switch between the two playable characters in neat and interesting ways...

I can't wait to punch ice king in the face... I hope it's got fully animated cutscenes!
I would love to play this. But I has no 3ds ;_;
Action adventure is a fantastic route to take on this game. because there is nothing better then button mashing on a tv show you love.
I'm hoping the use of 3d is as witty as the overall comedy in the cartoon. I could just imagine seeing Jake say "Turn on the 3D! I need some room to grow here, man."
