Today, From Software, inc. released a new Armored Core V gameplay trailer and boy is it epic. There’s a lot of that fast-paced, seizure-inducing mechanized combat we’ve all learned to love and enjoy, and this time, there’s attention given to team-based mech wars.

The trailer shows plenty of gameplay, frenetically moving back-and-forth between different mechs working together to take out other mechs. The immediate thing I noticed amidst all the chaos is that the combat seems to be more centered around the terrain rather then just unleashing the full force of mech-seeking missiles and machineguns. The fighting locations seem to be more confined with plenty of cover, as opposed to some of the locations in previous AC games like a large desert or open base. Another thing that helps support this is the size of the mechs seems to have gotten smaller; they aren’t half the size of the skyscrapers around them this time.

Aside from the very bland and seemingly emotionless voice acting (You’re about to explode and all you can say is “I’m done”... really?), I was rather satisfied with the trailer. Set for release on Xbox 360 and PS3 sometime in 2012, we all know more information about the fifth installment of Armored Core is going to pour out and I definitely can’t wait. Anyways, here's the trailer for you to enjoy.
