The guys at From Software are releasing a series of trailers about the prologue to Dark Souls. The first one was pretty and dark, but ultimately lacking. When you tell a story over three parts, normally the end of the first two parts have a bit of a teaser. A high moment. Something that makes the consumer want to continue the story by watching the next installment. Think the end of The Empire Strikes Back.

Dark Souls isn't really adhering to this philosophy. While these prologue trailers are visually stunning, there's not enough going on. In this one we're introduced to a few lords, but there's no explanation beyond that. It's like if I walked up to you with three strangers next to me and said, “Hi. This is Mike, Dave, and John,” and then walked away.

Wait, why am I analyzing trailers? Damn you, From Software. Just release your game already so I can play the piss out of it. Hit the jump to watch the vid. Dark Souls is out October 4th for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

So, let me get this straight. You're complaining because they're not giving enough away in the trailers? When, holy crap, they look amazing?
