Ever wondered what goes into creating iconic characters? You're in luck. Irrational Games has released this video talking about the process of building Booker and Elizabeth in their upcoming RPG Bioshock Infinite.
As Ken Levine mentions in the beginning of the video, the main character in the first two games really was Rapture itself. Now they have the chance to build characters that interact and speak with their own voice, and that is an exciting challenge. As a writer this conversation fascinates me, since it's less about who the characters are and more about how they were created. I am always looking for ways to improve the quality of the characters in my own writing. Maybe I can borrow at thing or two from Irrational. Think they would mind?
