Blizzard Entertainment will partner with retailers worldwide for another one of their famous launch events on May 14th to celebrate Diabo III. Retailers in U.S., UK, France, Germany, Sweden, Poland, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, and the region of Taiwan will all have massive launch events.
Here in California Fry's Electronics lost out to the Irvine Spectrum, where Blizzard and Gamestop will be rolling out the bloody red carpet for gamers with festivities and giveaways starting at 8 PM. Traditionally there were giveaways tied to contests for dancing, voice impressions, and cosplay. I can tell you having attended Blizzard launch events for many of their products, these are definitely nights you shouldn't miss if you can help it.
"In addition to the official US launch event, other retail locations around the country will open at midnight to support gamers looking to pick up their copy of the game the moment it goes live," Blizzard said on Wednesday. "Please check with your local retailers for further details."
I know I'll be down there covering the event and hopefully seeing Level 80 Elite Tauren Chieftain perform. Will you?

Other way around. They usually host their launch events at Fry's, but this time they are going for the Irvine Spectrum instead. Personally, it matters not to me as long as its within driving distance. ^_^
Whoah that's what I get for listening to loud rock music while reading this article lol. "I DOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNTTTT HAAATTEEEE YOUUU!"
Anyways. Sweet, maybe I'll head down for the event as well. All day thang?
Usually they are evening events, leading up to actually selling the game once Midnight hits. This one is starting at 8PM, according to the article. For the Cataclysm event, they even had a small concert in the Fry's parking lot featuring L85ETC and the people that created the music for the various taverns around the game world.
Might want to read the article Ken. I tell you everything you need to know there, including when things start.
I wanted to go to the Cataclysm event, but I stayed home and got server first level 85 warlock. Dont mind going to this one, there nothing holding me back, rather then the drive.
Mhmm so I can't read while listening to ipod *crosses off list* STill, if I do go, I'll probably be there most of the day to go see a random movie and watch them set-up since I enjoy that stuff >.>
